It was FF6's remastered music that I was slightly disappointed in. FF4 is my favorite FF of all time, my very first game in the franchise (when it was FF2 on the SNES) and what got me interested in game music in general, and I thought the Pixel Remastered music for FF4 is some of the best of the entire remaster series. Again, I am so disappointed by the remaster of the music in IV, but at least mods exist to fix that for me.
The experience of the PR for FFIV is so much better with the proper music.
I didn't bother with Memoria, but the only thing you lose is the addition of a built in music player so that's fine. This mod restores the original SNES soundtrack using the original SNES synth, but the tracks are uncompressed and use a modified UnityPlayer.dll file to sound better than the originals in some ways.

I was finally forced to go download the Synthetic Origins FFIV Pixel Remaster OST Mod [because I just couldn't take how poorly redone these tracks are anymore by the time I reached Damcyan. It is EXTREMELY disappointing because I was looking forward to making it to IV because it's my favorite. Some of the tracks are just downright BAD and sound orders of magnitude WORSE than the original SNES tracks. Instruments are not normalized, emphasis is put on parts of the tracks that makes no sense, while the main parts are pushed into the background. Then I got to my favorite Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy IV, and the soundtrack is. I've heard the tracks redone from other remakes of the games, but the PR ones are my favorites for I - III. They all evoked the nostalgia of the original OSTs but with amazing remastered tracks using real instruments to bring the OSTs into the modern age. FF I - III were great, and the remastered music was amazingly well done IMO.
